I want my students to be able to express their feelings musically. I encourage my students to listen to a piece of music as if it is telling a story. Once they have imagined the scene, characters, or emotions behind the music, I ask them to bring that story to the piano as they play. You never know when the next Mozart will appear.

ABOUT
Mr. Torres
Juan Torres's journey began at age 15, when he started playing the piano. What began as a new interest quickly grew into a meaningful passion, and through dedication, practice, and a love for music, he developed his skills and gained confidence as a pianist.
Over the years, Mr. Torres has performed in many concerts and piano competitions, each one teaching him the importance of discipline, preparation, and perseverance. One of his proudest accomplishments was winning a concerto competition at UTB–TSC, performing the first movement of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major with the university orchestra; he later performed Mozart's complete Piano Concerto No. 21 with orchestra. He has also mastered playing with a pedaling device activated by a mouth switch, an experience he found both exciting and memorable.
For Mr. Torres, playing the piano has become an important part of life — a way to express himself, challenge himself, and connect with others through music. He looks forward to continuing his musical journey and inspiring his students to find their own voice.
