ABOUT
DR. JONES
Dr. Jason D. Jones is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at UTRGV on the Brownsville campus and serves on the executive board of the international Early Childhood Music and Movement Association. He earned his doctorate in Music Education at the Eastman School of Music, where he received the Shetler Prize, and holds certifications in Kodály from OAKE and in Eurhythmics from the American Eurhythmics Society.
Dr. Jones has taught elementary general music, choir, and strings, and received the SAISD Foundation "Inspire Award" for his innovative work with urban elementary school children. He has presented workshops, research, and clinics for school districts and for state, national, and international conferences, and his work has been published in the Journal of General Music Education and the Journal of Music Teacher Education, among others.
