Souvenirs of Spain invites you to an elegant evening where music, culture, and community come together in an intimate concert setting. About the Artist
Costa Rican pianist Dr. Juan Pablo Andrade is an internationally acclaimed performer, educator, and collaborator whose career spans solo recitals, concerto performances, chamber music, and pedagogy across the Americas and Europe.
A recipient of the Costa Rican National Prize of Music, the country’s highest honor for musicians, Dr. Andrade has also earned top prizes at major international piano competitions in Brazil and Costa Rica. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe, performing concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and more—including appearances at prestigious venues such as Costa Rica’s National Theater and the Yehudi Menuhin Forum in Switzerland.
An active chamber musician, Dr. Andrade is a member of the Aegina Trio and has released critically praised recordings, including War to Peace on Centaur Records, featured in Fanfare Magazine. His performances have been broadcast on national radio and television, and he is a frequent clinician and adjudicator at festivals and conferences worldwide.
Dr. Andrade holds degrees from the University of Costa Rica, Arizona State University, Indiana University–South Bend, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is currently Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and serves on the faculty of the SemperMusic International Summer Festival in Italy.
