About the Event
Gold Cup Festival at Brownsville Piano Studio 🎶🏆
The Gold Cup Festival is an annual event open to students of all ages and skill levels. It provides a supportive and encouraging environment where young musicians can showcase their talents, receive constructive feedback, and gain valuable performance experience. Categories are divided by level and instrument type, ensuring a fair and focused evaluation process.
The Process
Registration
Participants sign up by filling out a google form & paying their registration fee.. Please note that this year we are asking each student to fill out the form, not the instructor, with their name, piece, and level. Each student is placed in a category based on their age and primary instrument.
Preparation
Once registered, students prepare two pieces according to festival guidelines. They are encouraged to work closely with their instructors to polish their performance and feel confident on stage.
What to Expect
Performance times will be sent out the week after registration closes.
Arrive 15-30 minutes early to check in.
You’ll be placed in a warm-up room to practice before your performance.
Once you play, you’re all set and free to go! 🎉 The entire process should take about 30 minutes if everything runs on time.
Performance
The festival takes place at Brownsville Piano Studio, where students perform in front of a judge and a small audience. High-quality instruments will be available for use.
Judging
Performances are evaluated based on technical skill, musicality, and presentation. Each student will receive written feedbackfrom the judge, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
Feedback & Growth
All participants receive detailed feedback to help them grow as musicians. The judge’s notes will focus on both the technical and artistic aspects of their performance, offering valuable insights to apply in future practice and performances.
