Bach and the romantic virtuosity of J.K. Mertz to the jazz-tinged colors of A.C. Jobim and the soaring riffs of Satriani, Van Halen, and Petrucci. This one-of-a-kind concert reimagines the guitar’s journey across centuries, blending classical mastery and modern innovation in true ClassiCulture fashion.
Meet the Artist: José Villarreal
A South Texas native with international acclaim, José Villarreal is a professional guitarist and educator whose career bridges classical mastery and contemporary energy. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain, José has performed with world-renowned artists including Steve Vai, Los Enanitos Verdes, Del Castillo, and Maná — with whom he recently took the stage at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
In addition to performing, José is a dedicated teacher in Brownsville, inspiring the next generation of guitarists to chase their own musical dreams.
