It’s time for our favorite annual BPS tradition: the Virtual Costume Showcase! Students are invited to record themselves performing one piece in costume and submit it for our Monster Mashup, a frightfully fun celebration of music, creativity, and Halloween spirit.
What to Do
Dress Up!
Wear a fun, school-appropriate costume that allows you to play comfortably.
Costumes don’t have to be fancy — creativity counts! 👻
Record Your Performance
For longer videos (over 90 seconds): record in landscape view (horizontal).
For shorter videos (under 90 seconds): record in portrait view (vertical).
Use good lighting and make sure your camera is stable.
Ensure the full view of student and instrument is visible.
Record in one take — no edits, filters, or effects.
Upload your finished video using our submission form (link below).
Recording Tips
Audio first! Make sure we can clearly hear your instrument.
Wait 3 seconds before and after performing before stopping the recording.
Avoid background noise — turn off TVs, fans, and air conditioners.
Smile and have fun! The goal is to share your love of music with our BPS family.
Rules & Reminders
Please read carefully before submitting:
Deadline: Submissions received after October 25 may not be included in the final showcase.
Costumes: Must be school-appropriate and family-friendly.
Entries: One video per instrument. Students who play multiple instruments (e.g., piano + voice) may submit one per instrument.
Permissions: By uploading, you give Brownsville Piano Studio permission to include your video in our public online showcase.
File too large? Upload it to Google Drive and share the link in your form instead of the raw file.

How to Watch
Our showcase will premiere on the BPS YouTube Channel starting Friday, October 30.
Grab some popcorn, put on your favorite costume, and enjoy watching our students shine in this year’s Monster Mashup!
