This recital centers on the musical genre known as theme and variations. A common practice through music history is for composers to borrow a theme from another composer, from folklore, or even from another composition of their own, and creating a whole new work from it. This program will include some of the most remarkable examples of theme and variations from the piano literature, plus more. Featuring works by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and Debussy.
