About the Event
About the Concert
Journey across continents and centuries in Echoes of the New World, an evocative piano duo recital by Table for Two. From the rhythmic vitality of Latin America to the poetic lyricism of North American soundscapes, this concert celebrates the diversity and innovation that define the musical Americas.
Through works that reimagine the classical tradition, pianists Ilana Joyce Cady and Linda Chávez invite audiences to experience a sonic landscape where cultures converge — where the echoes of the past meet the pulse of the present.
With their signature blend of storytelling, connection, and artistry, Table for Two transforms the stage into a space of reflection and discovery, illuminating voices that continue to shape the ever-evolving sound of the New World.
Meet the Artists: Table for Two
Table for Two is a dynamic piano duo featuring American pianist Ilana Joyce Cady and Mexican-American pianist Linda Chávez. The two met at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they discovered a shared belief that classical music should not only preserve tradition but also expand it — illuminating voices, cultures, and works too often overlooked.
Their collaboration quickly gained international recognition. In 2016, they won an international competition in Graz, Austria, debuting at the Styriarte Festival with Great Daughters: Unheard Voices, a groundbreaking program celebrating women composers from around the world. Since then, Table for Two has toured across Texas, Vermont, Massachusetts, Austria, and Puerto Rico, and completed a Teaching Artist Residency at Lincoln Center in New York City, where they collaborated with other creatives to explore performance, storytelling, and community engagement.
Both artists bring distinct yet complementary missions. Ilana Joyce Cady is an active collaborator and founder of the Free Concert Series in Massachusetts, dedicated to building community through creative and inclusive programming. Linda Chávez, pianist, educator, and founder of Brownsville Piano Studio in Texas, is devoted to expanding access to high-quality music education and fostering cultural growth through performance and outreach.
As Teaching Artists, Table for Two designs immersive concerts that blend music, poetry, and audience participation — transforming traditional recitals into experiences of connection, curiosity, and cultural dialogue.
