The Brownsville Piano Studio is proud to offer the highest level of music with certified and capable music educators. Our mission is to continue to raise the level of music throughout the lower valley and in doing so, help train the next generation of music educators. We are thrilled to be offering a PAID INTERNSHIP to potential music educators interested in pursuing a degree in music. Interns will gain hands on experience in teaching, lesson planning, and obtain other valuable tools for their future. This program also allows interns to work in a diverse setting, helping to give back to their community while building essential professional skills for college and beyond.

• 2 Piano Assistant Interns

• 2 Vocal Assistant Interns

• 2 Guitar Assistant Interns

 

SESSIONS

• June 10th- 28th

• July 8th- 26th 

• 8:30am-2:30pm 

• $300 per session

*One Assistant Intern per instrument per Session will be given

 

RESPONSIBILITES

• Arrive on time, dressed in appropriate apparel

• Support and Aid the BPS Instructor you are paired with.

• Be proactive and help maintain a positive classroom environment

• Provide input on curriculum and planning

• Communicate effectively with students and parents 

• Receive regular feedback on performance

• Assist in setting up and cleaning up classrooms

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Completed Intern Application Form

• Letter of Application: 200 words max; must contain: what role has music played in your life?  who has been a positive educational influence? why should you be selected?

• 2 Letters of Recommendation 

• Resume/List of Any Prior Experience

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have musical experience (music classes in school, private lessons out of school, etc.)

• Must have A/B average or higher; or a GPA of 2.5, or higher

• Must be reliable and punctual
